Samia’s Bachelorette Party

Whitney and I have been busy planning the “big event” all week. Our theme is NAUGHTY AND NICE. We have all the fun prizes, food, etc planned out and think we are all set. On Wednesday, Seattle gets a huge windstorm knocking out power for 3 days and now we’re feeling pretty nervous about the big bash. Luckily at 9 am Saturday, the power buzzed back on! Whitney and I embarked out into the powerless city… the challenge was finding a grocery store that was open.

Samia Drinks

At 5:30 the festivities began with our “nice” part of the evening. We bought Samia a lovely feather boa—because of course that is just her style!! She arrived a little late but still made it! To get the evening started, we served her a sparkling cosmo! (more…)

Florist & Dresses

BouquetPetalsFlowers Groom

Today I met with and decided on my florist. She’s a entrepreneurial gal who has the combination of style and price that I am looking for. We spent a lot of time talking, and she gave me a lot of great ideas. I am pretty excited about working with Hopper Flowers!

Bride Nov Dress

I met her next to David’s Bridal in South Center, so I decided to drop by and try on a dress there. It was kind of strange being by myself since a busy Saturday brings many bridal parties/mom’s. But, it was nice to try something on and see that it’s not so bad! Check out this poofy “cupcake” number!

Custom Stamps Ordered!

Save the Date Stamp

After tormenting the lady at the Post Office for just the right “Save the Date” stamps… I decided nothing was quite right. So, Brett reminded me of my online photo stamp service from www.stamps.com. Brilliant. I had totally forgot about this!

Keep your eyes peeled for the Save the Dates with custom “Will you marry me?” Stamps! Wahoo!

Cake Tasting

Starry Nights Logo

With the exception that I thought the appointment was at 11:30 instead of 11:00, cake tasting went surprisingly well. Not being huge cake fans…. Brett and I had pretty low expectations. (more…)

Centerpieces, take 2.

Centerpeice

Tonight, Renee and I played with some more centerpiece ideas (while drinking a few martini’s of course!) We combined flowers, rocks, and crackled candleholders. Sort of pretty. (more…)

Haight-Weeks Wedding

Brett & Jen at Weeks Wedding

Well, after a few days preparing for the wedding, we all survived! A lot to do, but in the end it came together quite nicely! Heather was a beautiful bride, and we had a great time (maybe a little too much fun!! 🙂 )

We are lucky to have a wedding at the same time we are planning ours… Heather has been passing on her experience in wedding planning with us!

Mr & Mrs Weeks

Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Weeks
(Weird… now I have to remember to call my friend of 13 years Heather WEEKS!)

Photography… Check!!

After freaking out on Friday after the first 8 photographers I heard back from were booked—I finally got in gear to find a photographer. I have spent the last 3 days researching, corresponding, and meeting.

Today, I met with J & J photography and hit it off. I think their photography style is just what we are looking for. Not only that… but they were both friendly, inviting, and and comfortable to be around.

I am relieved I have someone booked, but also VERY excited and anxious to have engagement photos taken along with “the big day!”
